About the Role

NSW Public Works (NSWPW), within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), is seeking a motivated Infrastructure Digitalisation Designer to join the growing digital engineering team.
In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of 3D models, asset tagging, and digital deliverables that drive optimised outcomes for infrastructure, construction, advisory, and emergency management projects.

Using the Autodesk technology stack, you will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions while gaining exposure to some of the state’s most significant infrastructure programs.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge, build hands-on skills with the latest digital tools, and contribute to the advancement of digital engineering practices in NSW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support using Autodesk Construction Cloud, AEC Collection, 12D and related platforms.
  • Independently design and draft multi-discipline digital deliverables.
  • Assist in delivering projects in line with Australian and NSWPW standards.
  • Review, produce, and manage 3D/CAD/digital data deliverables.
  • Implement cloud collaboration platforms for engineering teams.
  • Support the rollout of Infrastructure Digitalisation Standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to develop creative, fit-for-purpose solutions.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • An undergraduate degree (completed or near completion) in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental or related engineering discipline.
  • An interest or specialisation in water-related infrastructure.
  • Experience or interest in working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk AEC tools (Revit, Recap, FormIt, Drafting) and familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply software tools to improve project efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel to regional/remote sites as required.
