This position is suitable for a Risk Data Scientist with a strong foundation in data analysis and an even stronger focus on consultative risk advisory, conceptual thinking, and business-oriented problem solving.
This role is ideal for someone who thinks beyond the code — someone who can turn data patterns into meaningful narratives, communicate risk exposure to executives, and co-design solutions that align with both operational priorities and enterprise risk frameworks.
To be successful for this role, your CV will need to reflect on following skill-set:
- Background in data science, risk analytics, or strategy consulting with a focus on fraud, financial crime, or operational risk.
- Strong conceptual understanding of fraud typologies, internal controls, and risk frameworks;
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex ideas simply.
- Experience in a banking, financial services, insurance, fintech, or consulting environment.
- Proficiency in tools like Python, R, Excel, SQL, Power BI or Tableau is welcomed – but strategic thinking and communication will set you apart.
- Hands-on Statistical and mathematical modelling background, i.e. decision trees, random forest
- A passion for uncovering risk blind spots and helping businesses build safer, smarter systems
Preferred but Not Essential Experience:
- Experience with Power BI Dashboards and Reports
- Experience with Machine Learning / Deep Learning / NLP
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with business units to understand fraud and operational risk challenges from a business and customer lens.
- Interpret and translate analytical findings into actionable insights that inform policies, controls, and risk management frameworks.
- Support fraud detection and prevention initiatives with conceptual models, root cause analysis, and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with compliance, internal audit, operations, and technology teams to embed risk intelligence across the organisation.
- Develop executive-level dashboards and presentations that clearly articulate risk patterns and business impact.
- Contribute to enterprise-level risk assessments and help design frameworks for identifying, measuring, and managing risk.
