As the Environment Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and stability of the SAP application landscape by providing technical advice and ensuring adherence to structured change management processes. You’ll oversee the end-to-end transport management lifecycle—balancing project demands, BAU releases, and system availability—all while managing service providers and critical stakeholder expectations.
This role is pivotal in preventing deployment conflicts, ensuring audit readiness, and driving compliance across a large enterprise environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on SAP landscape design and transport management processes.
- Govern SAP change and release processes, ensuring all activity aligns with internal change frameworks and operational priorities.
- Coordinate, schedule and monitor SAP releases and deployments to minimise risk and disruption.
- Advise senior stakeholders on business-critical or sensitive changes—sometimes under pressure and without full data—using sound judgment and experience.
- Maintain robust change documentation, audit trails, and approvals to meet compliance standards.
- Manage outcomes and support quality from external service providers, including KPI tracking and reporting to management.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of SAP change and release management—governance, execution, planning.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices, especially change, release, and configuration management.
- Hands-on experience with SAP transport tools such as ChaRM, CTS+, Active Control, and Cloud Transport Management (BTP).
- Proficient in maintaining change records and supporting external/internal audits.
- Skilled in managing vendor service delivery and communicating outcomes to senior stakeholders.
