About You
You’re an accomplished Identity or Security Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong problem-solving skills.
You have a proven record of designing and deploying IAM solutions in complex environments and enjoy driving innovation, automation, and security excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in roles such as Security Engineer, Identity Engineer, or Software Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, SAML, REST API, SCIM integrations.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, NodeJS, PowerShell, or Python.
- Experience with IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, or Delinea Secret Server.
- Expertise in Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Identity Lifecycle Management (ILM), and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
- Familiarity with AWS, Windows, Active Directory, Firewalls, and Load Balancers.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities creatively.
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable information for diverse audiences.
About the Role
icare NSW is seeking a highly experienced Senior Identity Services Engineer to play a key role in shaping and advancing our Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities within Cyber Security Services.
In this senior position, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and continual improvement of IAM systems and processes that underpin secure access across the enterprise.
You’ll work closely with the Identity Service Manager to maintain a robust and scalable IAM environment, drive automation, and enhance operational effectiveness — ensuring the right people have the right access at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across Identity and Access Management systems.
- Design, build, and enhance capabilities within the IAM platform, ensuring alignment with business and security goals.
- Lead User Access Reviews and Privileged Access Management (PAM) initiatives.
- Implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact and compliant IAM solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process definitions, data models, and build guides.
- Design and implement access request and approval workflows that align with governance requirements.
- Support go-live and production readiness activities for new IAM deployments.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation within identity operations.
