The Opportunity
This is a senior, high-impact writing role responsible for drafting signature-ready Ministerial correspondence on behalf of the Minister and senior executives. You will translate complex policy, operational and technical information into clear, concise, and politically appropriate responses for customers and stakeholders.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accuracy, tone and timeliness are critical.
Required Skills:
We are seeking a superior writer with demonstrated experience in:
- Previous experience in Ministerial or parliamentary correspondence and/or policy writing or content and copy writing or technical writing within NSW Government (or comparable government environment)
- Proven government experience drafting correspondence / content / copy / policy or equivalent
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability
- High attention to detail and quality assurance
- Experience managing high volumes of time-sensitive requests
- Political or equivalent writing skills and navigating sensitive stakeholder environments
- Managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Technical or policy writing with strong plain-English capability
You will be confident working autonomously, adaptable across portfolios, and comfortable operating within established political frameworks and protocols.
Experience with Salesforce Communications is highly advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, draft and author high-quality Ministerial correspondence aligned to Ministerial tone and political protocols
- Compile and consolidate information from multiple divisions and subject matter experts into cohesive responses
- Translate complex technical and operational content into plain English
- Manage end-to-end workflow of correspondence through Transport’s systems (including Salesforce-based platforms)
- Coordinate cross-portfolio input and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure responses are accurate, strategic, and ready for Ministerial signature
- Contribute to process improvement, templates and quality assurance initiatives
