Senior Project Officer / Project Manager – Data Platform Program – NSW Governmen

• WFH Hybrid
• $800 to $880 per day
• Contract initially till end of June 2026 with strong prospect of renewal

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Project Officer / Project Manager to play a key role in delivering initiatives within a large enterprise Data Program.

This role sits within a fast-paced technology and data transformation environment, where you will work closely with data architects, data engineers, program leadership and business stakeholders to deliver projects associated with the development of a modern enterprise data platform.

You will manage projects from initial planning and design through to implementation, monitoring and evaluation, ensuring strong governance, clear reporting and effective stakeholder engagement.

This role would suit a highly organised and proactive project professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving problems while keeping projects moving forward.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience working as a Senior Project Officer, Project Manager or Delivery Lead within technology or data programs
• Demonstrated experience with project scheduling, governance, reporting and risk management
• Experience delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and dependencies
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions
• Highly organised with strong administrative discipline and documentation capability
• A proactive self-starter who can operate independently within a collaborative team environment

Highly Desirable

• Experience working on enterprise data platforms, data migration initiatives or analytics transformation programs
• Exposure to Microsoft data technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform or Power BI environments
• Experience collaborating with data engineers, data architects or enterprise data teams
• Previous experience within State Government or large public sector programs

  
Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage and deliver projects within a large Data Program, from planning and design through to implementation and evaluation
• Develop and maintain project schedules, delivery plans, risk registers and reporting frameworks
• Coordinate project activities across multiple interdependent workstreams within the broader data transformation program
• Manage stakeholder engagement across business, technical and executive audiences
• Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues and dependencies
• Ensure strong governance, documentation and record keeping across all project activities
• Support the development and implementation of project processes and operational frameworks as the program evolves
• Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders, data engineers, data architects and program teams
• Provide clear and structured project reporting, progress updates and evaluation outcomes
