About The Position
You will be joining the Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ), committed to delivering safe, efficient, accessible, and modern work environments across central offices and frontline sites. As they embark on a major Workplace Transformation program, they are seeking a high-calibre Senior Workplace & Facility Operations Manager to lead and optimise workplace operations across key DCJ locations.
The Role – What You’ll Do
As the Senior Workplace & Facility Operations Manager, you will:
- Oversee management and daily operations of central DCJ offices, including 6PSQ, Justice Precinct Office, 50 Phillip Street, Moore Street Liverpool, 180 Thomas Street, and 219-241 Cleveland Street, Strawberry Hills
- Provide workplace support services for frontline consolidated offices in Ashfield, Campbelltown, and Tuggerah
- Manage supply and services provisioning to support DCJ’s agile and hybrid office models
- Lead the design, implementation and governance of systems and processes underpinning DCJ Workplace Operations
- Be accountable for Emergency Management and compliance across central offices, including alignment with the Workplace Transformation project
- Deliver defined scopes of support and services to enable a seamless Workplace Experience as part of the Transformation project
- Monitor, report and lead continuous improvement initiatives in workplace performance
- Act as escalation point and resolve high-level or complex workplace and facilities issues
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across IT, HR, security, procurement, project delivery, and external service providers.
Skills & Experience Essential:
- Significant experience (10+ years preferred) in operations, facilities, workplace or property management at a senior level, preferably in large, multi-site organisations;
- Experience working within a ticketed / ServiceNow style of environment;
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple sites and diverse facilities operations
- Strong understanding of emergency management, compliance and workplace health & safety (WHS) frameworks
- Proven track record in delivering workplace transformation, change management or large-scale workplace programs
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working with internal leadership, cross-functional teams and external vendors
- Strong analytical, reporting and continuous improvement skills
- Exceptional problem solving, escalation management, and decision-making capability
- Sound skills in managing budgets, contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and vendors
Desirable / Advantageous:
- Experience in government or public sector organisations
- Qualifications in facilities management, property, project management, business administration or related discipline
- Certification in emergency management or relevant compliance standards
- Exposure to agile office models, workplace technology (smart offices, occupancy sensors etc.)
