Infinity Pro is seeking an ICT Project Manager with strong infrastructure delivery, organisational change and stakeholder-management experience for a contract opportunity with a Federal Government agency.

Working within an IT Service Management environment, you will manage complex ICT projects across scope, requirements, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, procurement, testing and implementation. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, sponsors, technical teams, vendors and service providers to deliver agreed outcomes.

This opportunity suits an ICT Project Manager, Infrastructure Project Manager or Technical Project Manager who can take responsibility for delivery while managing requirements, preparing users and stakeholders for change, and maintaining effective project governance.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience managing ICT infrastructure projects in complex environments, with responsibility for scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks and delivery outcomes
  • Organisational change-management experience, including developing change approaches and plans, assessing readiness, preparing users for implementation and supporting change sponsors
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management, including developing engagement and communication plans, facilitating decision-making and translating technical information for business audiences
  • Requirements definition and management, including stakeholder workshops, scoping, prioritisation, agreed requirements baselines and traceability
  • Project financial management, including costing, budgeting, expenditure monitoring, forecasting and maintaining accurate financial records and reports for decision-making, compliance and audit
  • Procurement and vendor/contract-management skills, supported by effective negotiation, influencing, problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Experience managing project governance, risks, issues, dependencies and change control, with clear reporting and corrective action when delivery moves outside agreed tolerances
  • Experience overseeing testing assurance, user acceptance testing, implementation, deployment and formal acceptance of project deliverables
  • Practical knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid project delivery, together with ICT service-management principles and relevant government frameworks and standards

Please identify any PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM or ITIL Foundation/Managing Professional qualifications held on your resume.

Highly regarded but not essential

  • Experience allocating project work, coaching colleagues and monitoring team performance and quality against agreed objectives
  • Baseline Clearance

What you will work on

  • Plan and manage ICT infrastructure projects, coordinating business stakeholders, technical teams, project leads and service providers
  • Establish and maintain project scope, schedules, resource plans, budgets, governance and reporting
  • Facilitate requirements workshops and decision-making forums, securing agreement on priorities, deliverables and acceptance requirements
  • Develop organisational change and readiness plans, with tailored communications for users, sponsors and senior stakeholders
  • Coordinate activities across multiple teams, managing risks, issues, dependencies, procurement activities and changes
  • Monitor expenditure and cost forecasts, assess delivery performance and recommend action where needed
  • Oversee testing, user acceptance, implementation and deployment, ensuring deliverables meet agreed requirements and quality standards
  • Prepare project reports and benefits-realisation plans, and support assurance, compliance and informed decision-making
  • Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and maintain clear, reliable project documentation

Location and working arrangements

The role is based in Canberra. You will initially work full-time onsite for three months or until you understand the Department’s ICT landscape, requirements and project objectives.

Hybrid/WFH arrangements may be considered afterward, subject to approval and operational needs, with at least three days per week onsite in Canberra. Later flexibility is not automatic, and this is not a fully remote position.

Interstate travel may be required. Costs associated with remote-working arrangements, including relevant travel, accommodation, utilities and equipment, are the contractor’s responsibility.

Please state your current clearance level and status on your resume, or confirm that you do not currently hold a clearance. Please also provide your citizenship status.

The opportunity

This role combines responsibility for ICT project delivery with the practical work of managing requirements, engaging stakeholders and preparing people for change. You will work across business, technology and service-provider teams, taking projects through planning, governance, implementation and acceptance.

Your CV should clearly show the ICT infrastructure projects you have managed, your personal delivery responsibilities and the outcomes achieved. Include specific examples of organisational change, stakeholder engagement, requirements management and project financial control under the relevant positions.
