We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to support a major cyber uplift program within a complex Operational Technology environment.
This role is strongly focused on OT cyber security, with some crossover into enterprise IT security. You will help design, implement, integrate and assure cyber security controls that protect critical operational assets, systems and infrastructure.
This is an ideal opportunity for a cybersecurity professional with experience across transport, utilities, power, water, manufacturing, rail, industrial systems, critical infrastructure, SCADA, ICS or other operational environments.
About the role
As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will work closely with technical, engineering, operational and project stakeholders to support the delivery of cyber security initiatives across critical OT systems.
You will be involved in the design, implementation, assurance and integration of cyber security controls, helping ensure solutions are fit for purpose, properly documented, operationally supportable and aligned with relevant cyber security standards and governance requirements.
This is a hands-on technical role, but it also requires strong conceptual understanding of cyber security, risk, assurance and stakeholder engagement.

- Operational Technology cyber security
- OT security design and assurance
- Critical infrastructure cyber security
- Firewall design and network security controls
- SIEM security monitoring
- Endpoint protection / endpoint security
- Privileged Access Management / PAM
- Automated threat detection
- Application control
- Security monitoring and response
- Cyber security control implementation
- Risk, assurance and governance
- Incident response
- Systems engineering within complex technical environments
Highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, Cyber Security or a related discipline.
- Experience in cyber security, technology, engineering or operational systems environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Jira, SpiraPlan or similar project / issue tracking tools is desirable.
- Cyber security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SSCP, CEH, SANS / GIAC or similar will be highly regarded.

Experience with one or more of the following will be highly regarded:
- IEC 62443
- ISO 27001
- ASD Essential Eight
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- Australian Government ISM
- CIS Controls
- OT / ICS / SCADA security standards and frameworks
