We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with strong rail signalling and/or rolling stock experience to lead complex project delivery across a major transport infrastructure environment.
This role is ideal for a technically strong Project Manager who understands the rail environment, can work confidently with vendors and delivery partners, and has the commercial and stakeholder management capability to drive outcomes across time, cost, quality, safety and defects.
You will play a key role in the delivery of rail systems work involving signalling, rolling stock, vendor assurance & performance, defect management, project assurance and operational readiness.
This role will suit someone from an asset-heavy rail, transport, infrastructure or engineering delivery background, particularly where you have had exposure to rail signalling systems, rolling stock, train systems, brownfield rail environments or transport operations.
Some weekend work may be required from time to time due to the operational nature of rail project delivery.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
- Strong experience as a Senior Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, Project Manager or Delivery Manager in rail, transport, infrastructure, engineering or asset-heavy environments.
- Demonstrated experience across rail signalling and/or rolling stock.
- Strong understanding of project delivery in complex operational environments.
- Proven ability to manage project timeframes, budgets, risks, issues and defects.
- Strong vendor management, vendor assurance and contractor performance management experience.
- Ability to get involved in commercial discussions and make sound project delivery decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and people leadership skills.
- Experience working with transport operators, delivery partners, engineering teams or government transport environments will be highly regarded.
- Rail Safety Worker experience or ability to meet rail safety requirements will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities
- Leading the delivery of rail signalling, rolling stock or rail systems project work packages.
- Managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies and delivery milestones.
- Providing strong technical project leadership across complex rail and transport environments.
- Managing vendors, contractors and service providers to ensure obligations are met.
- Driving vendor assurance, commercial discipline and performance accountability.
- Managing defects, project issues, risks, escalations and close-out activities.
- Working with engineering, operations, safety, asset, commercial and project delivery teams.
- Supporting safe project delivery in live or brownfield rail environments.
- Ensuring work is delivered in line with safety, quality, environmental and operational requirements.
- Influencing stakeholders and resolving delivery challenges across multiple parties.
